This place was not a planned trip. I was hitting an open mic around the corner and desired I didn't ant to eat at the Mexican place next door. This place was solid. Everything was hot. The portions were good, though I would say priced slightly higher than I think they should be. I wasn't wowed by the items I ordered. They were solid though. There are a couple things on the menu that look very unique. I will likely be back to try those.

Off the beaten path and that's a great thing. Fresh sandwiches and lots of great flavors. We went with a large group. No problem for that kitchen staff. They rocked out 12 meals during a lunch rush in no time. I had the grilled cheese with Brie and apples. Perfect amounts of cheese to bread. Not soggy in the least. I also splurged and got the pork fries. Pulled pork with cole slaw. The fries did get a bit soggy underneath the delicious smoky toppings. Not sure how to avoid that. Still delicious. If you don't save room for Sundae's ice cream, you'll just be stuffed when you leave. Great place.

Absolutely delish!! I love that they get all their meat from Tyner Pond farms. I had the kipply dog and the fresh garlic fries. Service was friendly and not too in your face. The guy preparing the food delivered it your table and made sure you had everything you needed. Will definitely return.

So this place is amazing. It is kind of pricey, so just be aware. BUT the food, it is phenomenal. Honest to goodness. It is amazinnng. Fresh cut fries, if you're a weirdo, go for the garlic fries and you won't regret it. So good! My favorite sandwich is the Cuban. Forks down, the best I have ever had. Other awesome thing, ROOT BEER! Get it. Also a neat thing is they have games for you to play, which you should partake in and feel like a kid again. Some guests do steak the pieces to the games, so shame on them. And it is foggy friendly! They have water bowls for your pups! Just not inside, so bring someone to watch the fur baby while you go in!

This was the best burger I have had in ages! I expected it would be good, based on The Mug being a poster child for fresh meats, but it exceeded my expectations. I went for The Original with no onion no cheese, and no mug sauce on a gluten free bun, and I added a fried egg. Mmm! It was so tasty! The only fries that were gluten free friendly were the free style ones, and they were just okay. I may have gotten a blah batch - they were a little too dark and limp for my taste. But still good enough to enjoy with my burger! The look and atmosphere is somewhere between a diner and an industrial hipster restaurant. My brother was amused by it, but agreed that it worked for them. With art along the walls and a large chalkboard wall where kiddos can draw and write - as well as shameless adults such as myself - it has an art friendly feel that's nice to see. We came in to celebrate my mom's birthday as a party of fourteen or so. The employees were all so nice and accommodating! None of us had ever been in before, so we all had questions and they didn't bat an eye. I will definitely be back to try more items on the menu. My eye is on the grilled chicken sandwich next! But the burger may tempt me again... either way, worth a visit!

I really wanted to like this place. I choose to eat primarily vegetarian because I care about animal welfare. But since The Mug is a part of Tyner Pond Farms and it's meat comes from a local farm in my hometown, I felt good going there to have my occasional hamburger. I actually looked forward to this meal for a few days. We met up with our Spectrum Social Society group to try out this trendy little spot in Irvington. It was a week night, and they thankfully were not busy because we took up the front of the small restaurant. Local art graces the walls of this charming and inviting little spot. There's also a small patio that would be so perfect while all the leaves are turning this Fall. Most everyone in our group got burgers, including my son and I. One of the girls got their chicken tenders and as soon as I saw them, I wished I had ordered those instead. However, she said they were really bland and offered me one. I took one bite and didn't care for any more. Way to much breading for so little chicken. My son and I got the 1/4 pound burgers and shared a basket of fries. We both agreed that the meat tastes like Steak & Shake burgers, just thicker. They have their own sauce, as well. The girl who took my order described it as "mayonnaise based." I'm thinking more Thousand Island? Neither my son nor I were fans. The fries, however, were delicious. Yum! Perfect! One of guys got the garlic fries. He sat at the opposite end of the long table we had created, and I could smell the garlic. Everyone commented on how strong it was and he did not eat more than a few and then gave up. There were actual mounds of hunks of cloved garlic. Seemed like a LOT of garlic, even to someone who loves garlic. Several people got ice cream after dinner, including my son. The ice cream was the one thing that everyone agreed was fantastic. My son got Cookie Butter and it was really good. Their staff was all extremely friendly and nice. Someone came out several times to check on us and clear away any trash or empty baskets. Really a great little place. But sadly, their burgers just aren't what we're looking for.
